KYOTO

Kyoto

Kyoto is a city that has captivated hearts and minds for over a thousand years. It’s worth spending a few days experiencing the sights in Japan’s ancient capital. Kyoto is synonymous with traditional culture and cuisine––it was, after all, the nation’s capital for over a thousand years. Due to its significance, Kyoto was thankfully spared from the bombings of World War II. Consequently, there are now over 2,000 shrines and temples to explore, including 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Situated at the foot of picturesque mountains, Kyoto is also an outdoor lover’s paradise. There are plenty of excellent hiking trails as well as several parks and gardens to be explored.
